Sarai Maldonado - Mc,Allen,TX- Regional Competition / Dallas, TX - National Competition, 1st Place

A senior at the Business,Education & TechnologyAcademy, developed a business plan called Hop-A-Ride. Located in San Antonio,TX this business would provide a unique sightseeing alternative for tourists.

 

Ariana Mata - Mc,Allen,TX- Regional Competition / Dallas, TX - National Competition, 2nd  Place

A senior at Economedes High School, developed a business plan for a local animal shelter which is critically lacking in her community. The Second Chance Animal Center is a humane alternative to other shelters.

 

Sean Ramirez Mc,Allen,TX- Regional Competition / Dallas, TX - National Competition, 3rd  Place

A senior at McAllen Memorial High School, is also an avid musician. His business Treble Sounds provides music tutoring to Latino youth in the Rio Grande Valley.

 

John Trujillo Los Angeles, CA – Regional Competition / Dallas,TX- National Competition

A senior at Bell High School, proposed YouNique Corp, a filtering software marketed online that is easily accessible for business or home use.

 

 

Carmen Izquierdo - Los Angeles, CA – Regional Competition / Dallas,TX- National Competition

A senior at Wilson High School, proposed EquiSilent, a wireless earplug to help reduce noise, which also serves as an alarm clock. She planned to sell these online and manufacture them in East Los Angeles.

 

Michael Suarez - McAllen,TX- Regional Competition / Dallas,TX- National Competition

A Junior at Juarez Lincoln High School, was a runner up at this local BizFest, but became a finalist when another student could not attend convention. His business plan for a recycling center in McAllen,TX received very high points from judges.

 

Brianna Apodaca- Denver,CO- Regional Competition / Dallas,TX- National Competition

Is a senior at Arrupe Jesuit High School in Denver. Her business plan involved the creation of a workforce development company that would teach improved customer service skills to employees in the hospitality industry.

 

Jose Madrid - Denver,CO- Regional Competition / Dallas,TX- National Competition

Jose just began his freshman year at Georgetown University after graduating from Arrupe Jesuit High School. His business Energized! is and eco-friendly gym that recycles green energy and provides educational opportunities to low income children through mentorship programs, after school tutoring, and free access to gym facilities.

 

Jackie Meraz Denver,CO- Regional Competition / Dallas,TX- National Competition

Jackie is a recent graduate of Arrupe Jesuit High School. Her business is a non-profit organization designed to help victims of domestic violence develop workforce skills through a work-study program. Jackie is currently attending Regis University.

 

Sonya Willingham - Detroit,MI- Regional Competition / Dallas,TX- National Competition

Sonya began her first year at the University of New Mexico. She participated in BizFest as a senior at Western International High School. Her business named Resources, Employment & Opportunity (REO) aims to provide career development tools and job placement for Latinos in Detroit.

 

Guadalupe Pineda - Los Angeles, CA – Regional Competition / Dallas,TX- National Competition

A senior at Huntington ParkHigh School, proposed the Beauty of Help Foundation, a unisex salon for breast cancer patients. The salon would provide part-time jobs for chemotherapy patients and would donate most of its funds towards cancer research.
