BizFest is hands down one of the best programs I've ever been involved in.  The professors and student aids are always there to help your project improve.  By the end of the program you've gained so much confidence in your own business that you're almost willing to actually start it up.  I'd recommend this program to anyone who's interested in business, or just wants to have fun."

US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Changing the Lives of America’s Youth through Mentoring at Boys & Girls Clubs!

This past spring and summer, the leaders of USHCC and BGCA, along with the national leadership of a small, select number of other community-based organizations, met over two days to discuss how they might work together to achieve greater impact on kids and communities nationwide through a National Mentor Recruitment Partnership aimed to address the youth mentoring needs of all children, with an emphasis on closing the minority male mentor gap that currently exists in our country.

The National Mentor Recruitment Partnership model at the local level would be simple; beginning in early December 2012, some 1300 local Boys & Girls Clubs will receive National Mentoring Programs grants from BGCA and the US Office of Justice Programs (OJP). BGCA will be provide a listing to USHCC leadership of Boys & Girls Clubs receiving these grants, as well as contact and other pertinent information for the Boys & Girls Clubs. Concurrently, the professional staff of local Boys & Girls Clubs is being provided direction for reaching out to and making contact with their local Hispanic Chamber. The local Clubs and Hispanic Chambers may then choose to contact one another to determine the need for and feasibility of a local mentor recruitment partnership in their communities. BGCA will provide all appropriate and required communications, reporting, recognition, technical assistance and partnership management support.
