The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USHCCF) will host their BizFest Youth Entrepreneurship program April 8 – 10, 2016 in Washington, D.C.
BizFest is a three-day concentrated workshop that gives a diverse group of high school students the unique opportunity to learn how to turn hobbies into profitable business ventures by offering hands-on, personal mentoring, while encouraging students to pursue higher education and become the future business leaders of America.
“The USHCC Foundation is thrilled to once again host the Bizfest Youth Entrepreneurship program right here in DC,” said USHCC Foundation Chair Nina Vaca. “Workforce development and educational initiatives like Bizfest allow Americans from all walks of life to contribute to the nation’s economic growth. We look forward to promoting youth entrepreneurship among our students.” For the second year in a row, Bank of America is the exclusive sponsor of the regional BizFest Youth Entrepreneurship program, reaffirming its commitment to youth entrepreneurship and leadership. This program provides students with a personalized course on financial responsibility including topics such as: how to build good credit, create savings, and budgeting.
Students from the Washington metropolitan area will go through an academic workshop delivered by the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). As part of the workshop, the students will develop a viable idea and business plan, which they will individually present to an exclusive panel of community leaders and high-level executive judges. The top three winners of the BizFest Youth Entrepreneurship program will receive up to $2,000 in the form of scholarships to the college or university of their choice.
